How to treat unclean skin
Almost everybody has experienced unclean skin during the teenage years. Normally it disappears when you are in the mid-twenties but for some it doesn’t. Some suddenly get is for a short period of time even in their mid-forties or later.
Earlier on people thought that a bad diet in the teenage years was the reason for unclean skin. Later research has showed that the dies has very little to do with it.
Pimples, acne and blackheads appear when the sebum production is high or the pores have been blocked. The sebum production is stimulated by the male sex hormones. The hormone level increase dramatically during the teenage years which increase the sebum production.
When the sebum production is high it is more likely to get blocked in the pores and create a pimple. Remember not to press the pimple out! The bacteria in the pimple will get squeezed under your skin and start new pimples.
When you treat unclean skin it is important to remove the dead skin cells and remove the blackheads so the sebum can run through the pores. Sebum helps keep the skin supple and soft. It also acts as a defense against bacteria and pollution.
